Sturt Gallery
With its purpose-built exhibition space and contemporary design retail space, Sturt Gallery showcases the best of Australian contemporary art and design.
A place that both nurtures and celebrates creativity, we present an annual program of curated exhibitions for many of Australia’s finest emerging and established artists, designers and makers working today.
Sturt Gallery extends significant exhibitions to other venues and state galleries through a travelling exhibition program. Through our projects, we also build strong connections to communities in the Southern Highlands.
Special Display
As well as a curated exhibition in the Gallery, a special display is often shown in the Gallery's retail space, designed to support and showcase a special event or program.
Sturt Events
From the School for Wood’s Tools & Techniques Weekend in February, to the Artisans Night Market in December, Sturt’s annual events showcase a deep connectivity with the local arts and design community.
Sturt Permanent Collection
The Sturt Permanent Collection is housed in the Frensham Schools Archive. A dedicated display area shows some of the work by artists who’ve worked at Sturt, including studio leaders and teachers, and resident artists.
