Life Before Sturt

Prior to this year at Sturt my career has encompassed architecture, interior design and graphics. My work has often entailed the design and detailing of furniture and joinery items for which I always desired a greater understanding of the processes and methods of timber construction. Last year I visited the Splinter Workshop exhibition at the Sturt Gallery and was inspired to take a year off work to attend the fine woodworking course at Sturt.

Designing and Making Philosophy   Keep it simple.
  "God is in the detail"

Life After Sturt    I will be returning to my previous position as a project architect. However I hope to combine this with designing and developing prototypes in furniture/object design.

Acknowledgments    Special thanks to Joan and George, to my family and friends for their support and interest and to Walter for allowing me to have the time out to attend the course.
