Life Before Sturt

Thirty years ago I went to woodwork classes at Evening College, loved it, and always meant to get back to it. When I recently started getting arthritis in my hands it frightened me into doing it now.
I took leave from my job in the administrative office of a school and left home for the year, seeing my highly supportive family on weekends. This is my second year at Sturt and I feel I have come a long way in both my understanding of woodworking principles and the development of a more enlightened creative side. I also feel much calmer in the machine room.

Designing and Making Philosophy    I'm working on it, and hope to continue to do so for many years.

Life After Sturt    My plan is to continue developing design and construction skills as I fulfil several commissions and gradually increase my range of furniture in a workshop in Sydney.

Acknowledgments    Thanks you, thank you, Ian, Mike and Tom, my rocks. Also Simon and John. I am glad it was you.
Tom Harrington ... what can I say? I couldn't have done it without you.
