Student Profile
Life Before Sturt    A farm girl with a desire for woodwork, which started by making furniture for dollhouses in the back shed with ply and nails. Continued woodwork at school and then looked for an apprenticeship with no luck. I felt the need for some qualification/s so did enrolled nursing for 5 years. I started a woodwork trade certificate at the Lidcome TAFE in January 1994 and moved onto a Cabinet Making apprenticeship in Newtown Sydney in April 1994. Traveled overseas and did woodworking in the English countryside. Came to Sturt with the aims to build confidence, create my own designs and to gain self-satisfaction.

Designing and Making Philosophy    Natural, smooth, flowing, curves.

Life After Sturt    Nursing part-time to pay the bills.
Woodwork part-time, hobby, pocket money for self-satisfaction for the pure love of it.

Acknowledgements    I acknowledge it has taken a lot of hard work and determination to get this far. I'd like to congratulate my classmates for making it through the year and to wish them luck in the future. A special thanks to Shannon Jones for his encouragement and guiding me in the direction of Sturt.
My recommendation, if you want something just go for it.
