Student Profile
Life Before Sturt

I have enjoyed a career in property both in England and Australia. The last 12 years in the Rocks have involved the management and conservation of the historic buildings.
After renovating a few houses over the years, I wanted to develop finer skills and explore a more creative side of myself. 2000 is the start.

Designing and Making Philosophy    I approached this year at Sturt with the view that I did not want to simply make pieces that showed the beauty of the figure in the wood. I am interested in designing and building pieces that are shaped, curved, decorated, functional and abstract.
I have a long journey ahead, but have learned many skills and techniques to proceed.

Life After Sturt    During this special year I have enjoyed the pleasure and endured the pain of developing new skills. I intent to remain at Sturt next year at the workshop with a view to establishing my own business in Moss Vale.

Acknowledgments    Huge thanks to Carolyn's wonderful eye for design and detail. Thanks to Maria and Sam for their encouragement and tolerance and my Dad for sowing the seeds.
