Permanent, part-time position
3 days per week extending to 5 days per week for the delivery period of Summer and Winter Schools

This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for art and design to support the important work of Sturt in the development and implementation of education programs, from 2020.
Established in 1941 and located in Mittagong in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Sturt is a renowned school of excellence in Arts, Design and Fabrication. Sturt presents contemporary design courses for adults and school-age students, accommodating those with a range of interest and skill level from professional to beginner, through full-time, part-time and weekend ‘short-courses’ plus extended intensive instruction within a Summer or Winter School. 

The Role

This is an important role within a small team, with responsibility for developing and managing a wide range of courses and events, in addition to the administration of key programs and activities. 
Key elements of the role include:
  • Development and implementation of courses and events
  • Coordination and delivery of annual Summer and Winter School
  • Management of the student database and Friends of Sturt membership
  • Promotional activities associated with courses and events
  • Support of the Head of Sturt in the planning and development of creative content
Attributes for Success
The successful candidate should have experience in designing and conducting programs and courses, ideally in the arts sphere, along with well-developed interpersonal skills. To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Enthusiasm, energy and passion for art and design
  • Proven ability in project management and management of complex events
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexibility regarding hours worked and ability to work on weekends when required
