16 Exploration of place: plant-based dyeing, imprinting & stitching with Kirsten Ingemar

Learn the basic techniques of plant-dyeing and imprinting of plant material onto cloth and paper. Discover the natural environment through colours, textures and collected plant material, mark making with natural dyes, rust dyeing and collage. Creating a set of samples you will explore their possibilities as a springboard to future work, making a small reference book of samples. 
Kirsten Ingemar has worked as a textile artist and maker in Australia for over 25 years. Her work is a blend of different dyeing techniques, collage and stitching, focusing on plant dyeing and leaf imprinting. Kirsten has taught in diverse settings, including COFA in Sydney, Flying Arts in Queensland and numerous workshops around the country.
