06 Weave! Create cloth with Saori weaving with Kaz Madigan

Japanese Saori philosophy invites you to weave and create cloth in your own unique way. Explore texture, colour and fibres spontaneously to your own internal rhythm. Saori weaving is improvisational, there are no ‘mistakes’, only the exploration of ideas and techniques guided by Kaz. Take home enough cloth made as a wall hanging, interior textile or garment. Simple garment cutting and construction will also be offered.
Kaz Madigan has been hand weaving for over 30 years, exhibiting and selling her work throughout Australia. After studying in Japan, Kaz extended her Curiousweaver Studio in Old Bar, NSW to include Saori Japanese creative freestyle weaving. Kaz also writes and teaches and is author of The Australian Weaving Book, T-Shirt Yarns, and articles in magazines and online publications.
