Monday 8 July | Almost anything goes: mixed media and drawing with Sue Meredith
Leave the ipads at home and draw from nature and your imagination. Explore mark making using unusual painting and drawing tools. Learn how to use objects from around the home or garden to create exciting and unique textures in your works of art. Let the materials guide you. Almost anything goes!
Tuesday 9 July | Power painting: painting and drawing with Sue Meredith
Get stuck into the paints to create bold and colourful works. Choose your own subject and explore, using acrylic paints and various media. You’ll use unusual methods with tools you may never have thought of to create vibrant, powerful pictures. We’ll even make our own paintbrushes!
Wednesday 10 July | Woven wonders: basketry with Penny Simons 
Create your own coiled basket using ancient basketry techniques and materials. You’ll use raffia and grasses to make beautiful work, then decorate it to your own design. Finish the day weaving willow, stars and hearts to enliven any festive occasion throughout the year.
Thursday 11 July | 3D Aliens: printmaking with Angharad Rixon
Aliens have been found, but squashed passing through the atmosphere! Can you help us design new bodies for our alien friends? We will make Alien x-rays, print their new body shapes onto t-shirts and then help them become 3D in the Alien incubator! Finally take your new friend home and introduce them to planet Earth.
Friday 12 July | Discovering clay: ceramics with Machiko Motoi
Where does clay come from? What happens when water is added or you dry it and fire it in a kiln? Explore with Machiko different clays, their properties and hand building techniques. Create a masterpiece you can take home after it returns from the fiery depths of Sturt’s ceramics department. Firing included – collection TBA.
