Sturt is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO no. 2571) offering courses in full-time, part-time and short course formats.
The Sturt School for Wood offers the nationally recognised (Australian Qualification Framework) training package LMF 40508 Certificate IV Furniture Design and Technology as a full-time 1-year course. This course attracts twelve students each year from all over Australia. Two 10 week full-time courses are also offered each year in Fine Woodworking for up to six students in each course.
Part-time term classes in jewellery, ceramics, wood and weaving are taught to over seventy students each week.
The significant area of growth at Sturt is the program of Short Courses, which includes courses in ceramics, jewellery, wood, textiles and many others.
Sturt Summer School continues to expand, offering a range of about twenty-five courses to more than two hundred students during January.
The first Winter School was held in the first week of July 2006, offering about 15 courses and has become a regular part of the Sturt calendar. |
